Heaven gained a new angel today. Our prayers are with Michael Venable and his family as they endure the loss of Beth, a beautiful wife and mother. She loved God. She loved her family. She loved orphans. She fought through a brain surgery, came out of it and fought some more. The Lord finally decided that she had fought enough and it was time for her to rest and be free of pain.
Many thanks to the countless individuals from all over the US and beyond who prayed relentlessly for Beth and her family. Beth has her own page with pictures and a way to give donations in lieu of flowers as requested by her husband. CLICK HERE.
Beth was a friend. Many questions remain as to WHY?
Beth was a friend. Many questions remain as to WHY?
Why would a beautiful mother and wife have to leave this life so soon?
Early this morning when I received the news I asked this big "WHY?" question, myself.
This is the facebook post that I wrote as I strive to make sense out of something that we simply can't understand because we are not God.
When someone we love passes, and especially while they are young, we are always left with the big question, "Why?"! We can't fathom why God would choose to take someone so soon, so young. I find peace knowing that God sees the big picture that we can't possibly see. Time is a blink of an eye and then we will all be where Beth is if we love the Lord. We have heard our Grandfathers say how fast it goes by. As we grow older we find that to be true.
Psalm 103:14-16 says...
14 For he knows how weak we are;
he remembers we are only dust.
15 Our days on earth are like grass;
like wildflowers, we bloom and die.
16 The wind blows, and we are gone—
as though we had never been here.
We try to capture time in our minds when in God's mind there is no time. We all have the same destiny and some get there sooner than others. The important thing is that we live this life with all we have, serving the purpose of what God put us here to do. It all starts with a relationship with Jesus, just like Beth had. If you don't know God, ask Him into your life....because in the end, He is all you have when we find that this life so quickly passes away like grass. Love your family, love your friends, live each day to the fullest with Joy!! We never know what tomorrow will bring. Pride and Power, and all the things that keep us from God are nothing in the end...only faith and love. Beth had faith knowing God was in control. She had love pouring out to her through her faithful, loving husband and children, family and friends. Her life was blessed. Remember God saw the big picture. This scripture always brings me comfort when people seem to pass too soon.
Isaiah 57 Good people pass away;
the godly often die before their time.
But no one seems to wonder why.
No one seems to understand
that God is protecting them from the evil to come.
2 For those who follow godly paths
will rest in peace when they die.
We never know what God could be protecting some from by going ahead and bringing them home to a place of peace and free from pain. It's not for us to understand now. If we love the Lord, then one day, we too, will understand as we look down and see this life as a blink of an eye. Live and love with all your heart while you can! Ask for God's help if you don't know how.
May God be with this beautiful family as they heal!
