Ethiopia, December 2013 ~ Guest blog by Adeline (OH Team Member)

This is Adeline's second Ordinary Hero trip since the summer of 2013. We wanted to give everyone a chance to hear from our team members. Meet Adeline.

"God has set this place and these people on my heart. being back in Ethiopia is so good...and being a part of this team makes it a hundred times better. the work Ordinary Hero has been and is doing is God-orchestrated. there is no other way to describe it. how we are reaching out to other ministries in Addis and raising awareness and support...witnessing the lives of these kids (from Hope for the Hopeless) changing right in front of our very eyes...it's God's hands at work. there is nothing more i want than to spend my life building God's kingdom here in Africa...and that is exactly what Ordinary Hero is doing.
im finding that even though i've been here before, the poverty still overwhelms me....to a point where i have become angry at God. the other night, during a team meeting, i was reminded of the change being made in the midst of hardship and great need. that God has not forsaken these beautiful people. He has a purpose and a plan for each and every one of them. and that their conditions break His heart. and so, it breaks mine. after praying constantly for peace and understanding, i can find peace by focusing on the good being done here- even though there is so much more to be done. God loves Ethiopia- and is using this team as a tool to radically change lives- those we meet and our own."
