The Word Is In......and the Word is getting out
In reference to the kids in the trash dump area of Ethiopia.....I attended the Korah Night II last night at Thompsons Station Church, which was awesome, by the way. I not only received a letter and picture back from my sponsored child but they gave out the official number of sponsored kids. The school that was supposed to only take up to 200 is maxed out at 252...Yay!! There are 22 older kids sponsored for technical school and 20 children on the waiting list. Yay!!! I was thrilled to learn that 50% of their sponsors came from Ordinary Hero and our amazing team spreading the word!!! Remember that they only had 120 kids sponsored when we arrived. Now look!! I love what a difference it makes to just open people's eyes and spread the word about a need and watch lives get changed!! Nothing thrills me more. So thank you, thank you to all of you who have sponsored. We are believing for the rest of the children as well when the time is right for the next school. Keep getting on that waiting list :) Also, I believe there are a few new older kids that just came available for a technical school sponsorship. That is so important for them to make it in their future. So thanks to all you fab Ordinary Heroes out there, you are changing lives, one at a time!!Now check this out......
Also,
Check out News Channel 5 and the story they aired tonight about Ordinary Hero and Clay Watson, our wonderful High School soccer coach that traveled to Africa with us. His life was changed by going over there. He gathered jerseys and cleats to give to the kids and it made a huge difference. And now.....well.....he is on the news!! Go Watson!! Watch and see for yourself how easy it is to become an Ordinary Hero when you put your mind to something. Great things happen.....and then watch the video to see how it is contagious with the girls on his soccer team. We may be taking them next July :) Our next trip is booked for July 7th-16th, 2011. Visit the Visiting Orphans website to get signed up. Great things are happening over there!!
Our God is Amazing! So are His people who carry out His heart with passion and action and obedience. Love you Kelly :) God bless the kids in Korah and the sponsors so they can bless more. God's Greatest on this earth in this hour!
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly, - This is such wonderful news! I was privileged to be on the same plane with your team when you were returning from Ethiopia, and my friend that traveled with us is one of your new sponsors. We were bringing home our 4 year old son. Had a lovely conversation with your husband in ET and in D.C., and he spoke such encouraging words. I just wanted to say thanks.
